The Masse Story
“A third generation Northeast Seafood Company”
In 1938, Edward Rondeau took over what was called Masse’s—a tiny neighborhood fishmonger’s stall in the Willimansett section ofChicopee,Massachusetts. He quickly established the Masse reputation for the freshest seafood west of Boston. Seafood lovers lined up around the corner and down the street at the little market for its fresh shrimp and haddock.
In 1970, Edward’s son, Raymond, continued the tradition, expanding Masse’s into the largest wholesale and retail seafood distributor in Western Massachusetts and remodeling the standup takeout counter into a sit-down restaurant.
Today, the restaurant has undergone another renovation—award-winning lighting design, a new full bar with wine and liquor, and an expanded full-range menu with pastas, steaks, and of course, the freshest seafood.
For nearly a quarter of a century, Masse’s has established a fine reputation for quality, service and customer satisfaction. In fact, for the last five years, we have been awarded the Valley Advocate’s Best Fish Market and Restaurant. We pride ourselves on quality product and sincere dedication to our customers.
